The Journey Ahead
Hey there—Welcome!
I'm so glad you’re here. My name is Morgan Deravil, and I’m getting ready to take a huge leap: I’m moving abroad! Destination? Spain!
Right now, I’m in the middle of a life-changing transition. I’ve completed my TEFL certification and preparing to head to Spain this fall through the CIEE Spain Teach Abroad program. It’s both exciting and a little surreal—something I’ve dreamed about for a long time, and now it’s finally happening. Throughout my CIEE TEFL courses, I’ve learned how to create engaging lessons, adapt to different learning styles, and support students as they grow in their language skills. Each step has made me more confident and even more excited to step into the role of an English teacher.
What I’m most looking forward to, though, is living and teaching in Spain. I can’t wait to immerse myself in the culture—strolling through local streets, learning the rhythm of everyday life, and embracing both the joys and challenges of living abroad. I know the road won’t always be smooth, but I’m ready to grow, learn, and hopefully inspire others who are considering the same path.
As my journey unfolds, I’ll be sharing it all—packing tips, preparation advice, emotional highs and lows, and everything in between. If you’ve ever thought about teaching abroad or are simply curious about what it’s like to start fresh in a new country, you’re in the right place. This is just the beginning.
