Biography
Ashlyn is an educator and academic leader with a passion for inclusive, globally centered learning. She was an international student herself, going to Scotland from a small town in Indiana to complete a master’s at the University of St. Andrews. Ashlyn holds a PhD in history and has taught across a range of international education programs, including with CIEE in Edinburgh. She also taught at several UK universities, including the University of Edinburgh and the University of Nottingham, and worked extensively with LEAPS (Lothians Equal Access Program for Schools) to support widening access to higher education. Ashlyn focuses on experiential, student-centered learning that helps students connect across cultures, think critically, and develop real-world skills. She is currently working on publishing two books on Scottish history, and loves to talk history anytime!
