CIEE Alumni Gather in Bucharest

Last week, ten Romanian and Moldovan CIEE Work & Travel USA alumni joined CIEE staff in Bucharest to explore how CIEE might support an alumni network in Romania. The group included two alumni who also completed the CIEE Civic Leadership Summit in 2013, and traveled more than 200 km to participate.
A lively, far-ranging conversation included ideas on how to stay connected to the U.S. and each other, and all agreed it’s important to perpetuate the exchange begun with their CIEE program in the U.S.
“I was extremely impressed by the energy and enthusiasm of the group,” said Phil Simon, Vice President, Work & Travel USA at CIEE. “It is a reminder of the tremendous value of exchange programs. I left the meeting with a renewed sense of purpose, and I’m excited to be involved as we continue to develop the CIEE Alumni Global Network.”
