Netherlands-not all just Windmills---Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseums
Amsterdam has amazing museums. The art work is phenomenal. The teens were able to visit the Van Gogh museum, immersing themselves in Van Gogh's art pieces and his life story. We could have spent days in this museum rather than just a few hours.
Another afternoon was spent exploring the Rijksmuseum with our local guide Jan. He helped us focus on the details of Rembrandt's art, in particular The Night Watch. Again we could have spent days rather than hours here. The museum itself is a gorgeous piece of architecture.
Outside on the Museumplein there were gardens to explore plus and fun little dancing fountain. A place to cool off on a hot summer day!
Lucky for anyone 18 and under, the teens in Amsterdam can visit the museums free of charge. Many of our group used this to their advantage, returning to explore further the art of the Netherlands.
