CIEE is expanding its global study abroad portfolio to increase access for students across disciplines and provide even more opportunities to study or intern in dynamic cities around the world.

In 2027, CIEE will open four new international centers to strengthen our global network and provide students with access to these leading cultural, political, and economic hubs.

Launching Spring 2027:

  • Brussels, Belgium
  • Osaka, Japan

Launching Fall 2027:

  • Vienna, Austria
  • Bangkok, Thailand

Plus, in 2027, we will expand our program portfolio in key academic areas by launching proven program models in more locations:

Four New CIEE Centers: Brussels, Belgium; Osaka, Japan; Bangkok, Thailand; and Vienna, Austria!

CIEE’s global network is expanding across Europe and the Asia-Pacific region to include cities with diverse strengths – from global business to technology, from language and culture to public policy. These new cities meet both growing student interest and the institutional needs of our partners. The new CIEE centers are:

CIEE Brussels – Beginning Spring 2027
Brussels is one of the world’s most important hubs for international governance and diplomacy. As the administrative center of the European Union and NATO, Brussels offers unparalleled opportunities for students interested in politics, international relations, and global policy.

CIEE Osaka – Beginning Spring 2027
As Japan’s third-largest city and a major port on Osaka Bay, Osaka is a key location for trade, commerce, and innovation. It is known as the culinary capital of Japan and boasts a robust street food culture. Offering extensive internship opportunities in fields such as robotics, manufacturing, life sciences, and technology, Osaka will be an excellent fit for business, engineering, and technology majors.

CIEE Bangkok – Beginning Fall 2027
One of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic and culturally rich cities, Bangkok is known for its iconic temples, royal palaces, vibrant markets, and life along the Chao Phraya River. Bangkok is a regional center for business, education, and innovation in Southeast Asia’s fast-growing economic region, making it an ideal location for students interested in business, finance, sustainable development, and emerging markets.

CIEE Vienna – Beginning Fall 2027
Centrally located on the Danube River, Vienna is one of Europe’s most dynamic and livable capital cities. Known as the “City of Music,” Vienna was home to legendary composers like Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, and Strauss, and boasts world-class venues like the Vienna State Opera and the Musikverein, making it an attractive option for music and humanities majors. And Vienna is home to major institutions like the United Nations and OPEC, making it particularly well-suited for students interested in global affairs, engineering, business, and sustainability.
