My American Internship: Yi Lun T. of Taiwan
Our "My American Internship" series features CIEE BridgeUSA participants who submitted entries to our photo essay contest. Yi Lun T. of Taiwan worked as an AI solution engineer intern at Vizuro in Burlington, Massachusetts.
I’ve always loved hiking, so in Taiwan, I would often climb a mountain known as the “Grand Canyon of Taiwan.” I never imagined that one day I would get to see the actual Grand Canyon in the United States. To me, it had always been something I only saw in magazines, but there it was, right in front of my eyes.
At that moment, I decided to strike a balance pose because it symbolized the most valuable lesson I’ve learned during my six months in the U.S. – balance. At work, I give it my all and stay fully focused. After work, I have time for my personal life. Work isn’t just about making money; it’s also about building a lifestyle that I love.
I also really enjoy my internship, which gives me the chance to attend exhibitions and conferences. The second photo was taken during a business trip to Detroit, where I brought along a bag from the GTC event in San Jose. The U.S. is a global tech powerhouse, and GTC is considered a temple for AI. I felt honored to witness the progress of human innovation.
In Detroit, I saw both the glory of the past and the reality of its rise and decline. These business trips have allowed me not only to gain insight into industry trends, but also to truly experience each city, understand American culture more deeply, learn how people live on this side of the world, and see why the country has become so influential.
