New York City
Hi eveyone,
Today I would like to share with you my experience in NYC with CIEE.
I had the opportunity to start my exchange year with a 3-day city trip to New York and consequently, to meet lots of other exchange students from all over the world !!! After long hours of flying, we arrived in New York on August 1, 2023! There were 4 of us from Belgium and we were immediately taken care of by the CIEE staff. I remember seeing this big "Welcome to the United States" sign at the airport, and that's when I really realized that my dream was coming true. We left for the hotel where we were welcomed by CIEE. The next day, we set off for New York City with a guide and the other exchange students. We saw Times Square, the 9/11 memorial, and so much more, before ending this wonderful day with a cruise off the Statue of Liberty. It was a truly magical day, not only because of New York but also because of the new people I met! The most important thing I take away from my first days on the American continent is the chance I had to meet other exchange students and share this experience with them. I realized that even though we came from different countries , we all shared the same project. I'll remember these people for the rest of my life, because we lived the beginning of this experience together and are continuing together.
When we got back to the hotel, we packed our bags again, because the next day we were all off to our final destination, which for me was California!
