2025 Portfolio Expansion

Earn 15 credits by taking courses with CIEE or at one or more local host institutions. With subjects spanning from business and engineering to humanities and social sciences, there is something for every student.  

Get valuable hands-on experience through an optional internship, where available. Students develop the problem-solving, intercultural communication, and self-leadership skills most valued by employers in today’s globally interconnected workplace.  

Attend classes with local students and dive deep into the culture. Students also engage in co-curricular activities and study tours designed to deepen their understanding of the host country's culture and society. 

Through our partnerships with leading universities to offer direct enroll programs, your students have access to thousands of courses in all majors, including high-demand study areas such as engineering, technology, and business. Students learn from leading experts in their fields at host institutions, complemented with CIEE co-curricular activities and excursions that enhance classroom learning and provide intercultural understanding. By studying alongside local students, participants will cultivate cross-cultural understanding and forge connections that last a lifetime.

Your students have the flexibility to enroll in CIEE courses or those offered by our local university partner with minimal prerequisites, and no language requirements.

CIEE’s Open Campus Block Study Abroad Network includes 17 locations around the world, including four in the Asia-Pacific region, all offering classes on a universal six-week calendar. This allows students to complete a semester in one location (as nearly three-quarters do) for deep immersion in a single country. Or students can choose a comparative learning experience to compare and contrast cultures or context. CIEE Open Campus Block programs offer experiential learning for students seeking to combine classwork with an internship or research project, and they are ideal for students from quarter schools with challenging academic calendars.

CIEE will offer 20+ summer and J-Term programs in the Asia-Pacific region, offering students from all majors and socio-economic backgrounds flexible and affordable study abroad opportunities. 

Eight-week summer internship placements are available in eight Asia-Pacific locations and students can search the online CIEE database of internship placements to find the perfect match for their academic and professional aspirations. 

Our expanded 2025 Latin America portfolio offers students the option of direct enroll, CIEE Semester In, CIEE Open Campus Block, and other high-demand programs in business, climate/environmental/sustainability, health, internships, and more. 

CIEE’s Open Campus Block network of programs offer courses on a universal six-week calendar in 20+ global cities, including four in Latin America – Buenos Aires, Argentina; Santiago, Chile; Monteverde, Costa Rica; and Yucatan, Mexico – making it the ideal program for students from quarter schools or with an interest in embracing a comparative international academic program. 

We’re committed to increasing student interest in Latin America and will appeal to student influencers to show their peers how exciting and life-changing it can be to embrace Latin culture, people, history, business, fashion, environmental science, and dozens of other learning opportunities. We will offer 100 full semester scholarships to students from across the United States who want to live and learn in one of CIEE’s five exciting Latin American locations as they spread the word about their experience.  

The CIEE Latin American Student Ambassador Scholarships will cover the full cost of any CIEE semester program in Latin America during fall 2025 and spring 2026. Winners of this competitive award will act as ambassadors for their program, sharing their journey with peers through social media and other techniques of storytelling. They will receive a full semester program scholarship and a living stipend of $2,000. Full details of the scholarship offer will be announced mid-April.
