First days in Florida

Right after I met my host parents and host sister in person I knew this is gonna be an awesome year. Of course I was worried so much about how we are going to get along. Two days after I came to Orange Park we went on a trip to Philadelphia, Atlantic City and Washington DC. We had so much fun and I saw so many interesting things and places. I tried new kinds of food. We got to know each other really well. Traveling is real icebreaker.

My first day of school was stressful and chaotic, but teachers and students were nice and helped me a lot. It is okay to ask for help and say what you think and how you are feeling. I thought that making friends is going to be the hardest part, but the opposite is the truth. Other students are really curious how exchange program works.

I didn’t experience a big cultural shock, but many things are different in the United States and Florida. I had to get used to people being more kind and polite, the humid weather and different types of food. It took me a while to adjust, but it wasn’t that hard. I’m glad that I did.
