Birthplace of Brazilian Golf
Golf took root in Brazil with the help of British railway engineers in 1901, who set up the first course in São Paulo. Just two years later, in 1903, the São Paulo Golf Club was officially founded.

Women’s Golf in Brazil
Brazil’s most successful female golfer, Mariajo Uribe, competed internationally across South America, including events in São Paulo, helping raise the profile of women’s golf in the region. Today, initiatives supported by the Brazilian Golf Confederation (CBG) continue to promote women’s tournaments at São Paulo courses.
