Golf is Global in Santiago de los Caballeros

Las Aromas Golf Club, also known as Santiago Golf Club, was designed by famed architect Pete Dye, the same mastermind behind the iconic Teeth of the Dog course at Casa de Campo. Since its opening in 1980, Las Aromas has challenged golfers with its narrow fairways, numerous bunkers, and panoramic views of Santiago and the Yaque del Norte Valley.  

Though hailing from San Francisco de Macorís, Eugenio Faxas made a lasting impact in Santiago’s golf scene by winning the very first three national matches organized by the Dominican Golf Association at Santiago Golf Club. His early victories helped ignite organized golf in the Dominican Republic and cemented Santiago’s place in the sport’s local history.
