When heading out to play, Alicante Golf, located just outside the city center in Playa de San Juan, is the go-to. Designed by Seve Ballesteros and opened in the late 1990s, this par‑72 course features a rare S‑shaped lake beside the 9th green shaped like Seve’s initial. Its unique mix of par‑threes, -fours, and –fives, along with water hazards and top-tier maintenance, delivers an engaging and beautiful experience for golfers of all abilities.

Since 2023, Alicante has hosted the La Sella Open at La Sella Golf Resort, a high-profile Ladies European Tour (LET) event with a €1 million prize fund, making it one of the richest women’s golf tournaments in Spain. The event not only showcases elite play but champions inclusivity as “A tournament for the ladies,” drawing global attention to Alicante’s role in advancing women’s golf.
Alicia’s Own LET Pro
Alicante native Silvia Bañón has made her mark on professional women’s golf. A member of the LET since 2018, she won the 2014 Portuguese Ladies Amateur, earned several professional victories on the LETAS and Santander Tour, and finished as runner-up at the 2018 New South Wales Women’s Open. Bañón continues to represent Alicante on the global stage.
