CIEE Promotes BridgeUSA at Cedar Point

At the foundation of Sandusky’s tourism industry are hundreds of international employees who, with the help of CIEE and BridgeUSA, support Cedar Point’s seasonal economy.

Over the next three years, CIEE and BridgeUSA will tour around the United States, visiting 12 cities where their international associates have made the most impact. The tour aims to spread awareness for the program and its positive impact on America’s economy and public diplomacy — as well as the participants’ lives.

In partnership with more than 4,000 businesses, BridgeUSA injects more than $1.5 billion into the U.S. economy annually. Across the nation, 100,000 BridgeUSA Summer Work Travel participants extend local companies’ work seasons by around 45 days and take their paychecks to diners, bars, and malls around town.

“[Secretary of State Marco Rubio] is supportive of these businesses that hire the BridgeUSA participants because he understands the value that it brings back to America,” CIEE Senior VP of External Affairs Carye Duffin said. “The new administration’s objectives are very much aligned with us about making America safer, stronger, and more prosperous — and that’s what BridgeUSA does.”
