Last Seen in America: Riding a 1980s Schwinn Breeze in Newport, RI
Where in Thailand? Chanthaburi, Thailand
Bio: I am 23 years old, currently living in picturesque Newport, RI, a town brimming with history and sailboats. I graduated from college two years ago and set out to be a teacher, a goal that the failing economy quickly plucked out of my reach. On the flight back from a visit to my hometown of Milwaukee, WI, an older gentleman seated next to me bestowed upon me some sage advice.
He said, "Travel everywhere you can while you're young. It's the one thing you'll wish you had done when you're older." I'm taking his advice and have been to nearly every state in the U.S., Peru and Japan, and soon, Thailand! I love food, art, music, and filling my days with as many new experiences and people as I possibly can.

Last Seen in America: Designing websites for independent hotels at an agency in Chicago, IL
Where in Thailand? Kamphaeng Saen
Bio: Born in suburban Chicago, I revel in stepping outside the comforts of home. I’ve lived progressively
farther from Illinois; first moving to Orlando, then to southern Spain, and now to Thailand.
Luckily there is still plenty of globe to trot, and I hope you’ll share in my experiences the whole way!

Last Seen in America: Living on a couch in Conway, Arkansas in a house with six other people, and bartending at the local country club to save money for the experience of a lifetime.
Where in Thailand? Samut Prakan
Bio: I was raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, and stayed there until I graduated from high school. I then travelled 35 miles up Interstate-40 to Conway for college and ended up dropping out after my second year.
I took the summer off with people who were making careers for themselves in the same position I was using to try and figure out my life, and it finally hit me that college was the answer.
I reenrolled the very next semester and after three years of chasing dreams I graduated with a double major in Political Science and Writing and had become the editor for the school’s student run newspaper.
This is my first time across an ocean but it won’t be my last, and I hope I can inspire anyone who reads my blog to never give up!

Last Seen in America: making lattes at Starbucks
Where in Thailand? Samut Prakan
Bio: An Indiana native, I first experienced life outside the US when I was twelve and travelled to China with my family to adopt my sister. I’ve been a travel nerd ever since.
During college, I studied Scandinavian Studies for a semester in Oulu, Finland where I extensively travelled around Northern Europe and Russia. In 2010, I graduated from Wittenberg University in Ohio with a degree in English and minors in History, Pre-modern studies, and Theatre.
Then I traded Midwest winters for summer and the beach. I worked with Cru for a year in Port Elizabeth, South Africa where I mentored students at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University and made some wonderful friends.
When my time in South Africa was over, it was clear that my time oversees was not. It occurred to me: "Hey, I love seeing students grow. I love living internationally. And I love the English language. Why not teach English as a second language?" And here I am!

Last Seen in America: Hiking through the forest in Portland, OR
Where in Thailand? Sam Phran, Nokon Pathom
Bio: As a first generation American, born to an Indonesian father, I have long dreamt of living in Southeast Asia. To say that traveling to Thailand to teach is a dream would be a massive understatement. When a moment in my life paused and the opportunity to move to Thailand was presented I leapt toward it with open arms. I strongly believe that life is what you make of it. And with that, I choose to grab the “bull by the horns” and ride it for as long as possible. I am a born and raised Portlander. As if it were an art form, I can describe the coming and going of rain simply based by the scent in the air. I leave behind a beloved dog and a growing career in marketing in hopes of pursuing my dreams and living a life full of passion.
