Introduction Message:

I am a social and sincerely girl. At the beginning I tend to be a bit shy and quiet, but when I get to know a person better and better I am very active, funny and open-minded. I love to play tennis and going to the gym with friends. I also enjoy skiing in winter. While on my program I would like to join a tennis team and volunteer with kids because I'm already babysitting a little girl twice a week nearby. I am looking forward to cooking and baking German foods.

Host Family Letter:

Dear host family,

I'm Aurelie, eager to join your family through the exchange program. I'm grateful for the opportunity and excited about the cultural exchange ahead. As a high school student, I'm actively engaged in academics and extracurriculars, including the student council and mediators' team. These experiences have prepared me for the dynamics of a diverse family setting.

I enjoy tennis, skiing, and spending time with friends and family. My sense of humor and determination define me, contributing to a warm and vibrant family atmosphere. I'm described as funny, bringing laughter and positivity to those around me. Simultaneously, I'm driven to pursue goals and overcome challenges.

In the U.S., I hope to deepen my understanding of American culture, build lasting friendships, and enhance my language skills. I look forward to sharing German meals, cultural insights, and participating in your family activities.

Excited for this journey,

Aurelie

Parent Letter:

Dear host family,

We appreciate your decision to host our daughter Aurelie for the next ten months, allowing her to seamlessly integrate into your family. We are grateful for this opportunity and anticipate the development of a strong bond between you and Aurelie.

Aurelie is a responsible, friendly, and honest teenager with a natural ability to connect with others. Her independence facilitates easy friendships and group integration. Diligent in her studies, she completes homework and prepares for tests independently. As a school mediator, she adeptly handles disputes.

Aurelie enjoys activities like gym sessions, and time with friends, engaging in cinema outings, shopping, and basketball. Since October, she has been babysitting a 3-year-old girl twice a week. Aurelie shares a close bond with her brother (13).

In our family, the father, 48, works as a publisher, and the mother, 52, is employed in public relations. Extended family resides across Germany, from the north to central regions. Despite distances, we strive to maintain close connections, visiting each other whenever possible. Weekends are dedicated to family activities like hiking, swimming, skiing, barbecues, and game nights, with cherished traditions of shared breakfasts, dinners, and family movie nights.

This exchange program holds great significance for Aurelie, and we are confident she will thrive under your care. Thank you for providing Aurelie a home and welcoming her into your family.
