If I said that you could survive living 5,355 miles away from home without your friends and family, would you believe me? I didn’t either at first, but here I am now, spending my semester abroad in Chile and having an experience that will undoubtedly change my life. My name is Sawyer Randall and I am 17 years old. I have lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin my entire life with my parents and my two dogs. I sing in my high school chamber choir, I play the guitar and piano, and I love art. I also, of course, love to travel. As I read about all the amazing places I could go, Chile was clearly the perfect fit for me. I related to the Chileans as they are known to be shy at first, but witty and boisterous as you get to know them better. I am the same way, as I am quiet when you first meet me, but fun and outgoing once I become comfortable around you. While I am abroad, I want to document my amazing experience in hopes to inspire other young adventurers to travel and experience the world, too. I hope that throughout my journey in Chile I can convince you all to go out and explore all the amazing places this world has to offer.
