All students can benefit from college counseling. Whether you are an international student or attend high school in the U.S., our dedicated college counselor can help you apply to college in the U.S. Get help building a school list, exploring college majors, developing a test prep strategy, writing your essays, and more. Not only does this reduce the stress of applying to college, but it will help you feel more secure in your chance of gaining admittance.

Yes! CIEE College Counseling can help students from all over the world apply to college in the U.S. In addition, our dedicated college counselor – learn more about Marisa! – has years of experience working with international students in the most diverse school system in the state of Maine. This experience, in addition to intensive multicultural training, has prepared Marisa to address the unique needs of international students from all over the world.

We ask that students have a strong working knowledge of the English language, as many U.S. colleges and universities have English proficiency requirements.
Are all college counseling services conducted in English?Click to Open
At this time, all CIEE College Counseling services are conducted in English.
How will I receive my counseling? By phone? By Skype?Click to Open
Students can meet with their college counselor by whatever means is easiest for them – Skype, GoToMeeting, WeChat, WhatsApp, or phone! It is often easiest to meet using Skype or GoToMeeting so that you and your college counselor are able to share computer screens. This makes it easier to see and exchange important resources.
Do I have to be an international student to participate?Click to Open
No! Students attending high school in the U.S. who are looking to leverage their diverse cultural and intercultural backgrounds or experiences are also welcome to participate in CIEE College Counseling.
What is included in the package price?Click to Open
Our College Prep Gold Package includes 30 hours of one-to-one college counseling while our College Prep Silver Package includes 20 hours. To see an example of how you will spend your time, please review our sample hourly breakdown. However, remember that your own college counseling experience will be tailored to your individual needs.
Each of our Essential Services include 4 hours of one-to-one college counseling.
Do you guarantee college acceptance?Click to Open
We cannot guarantee you will be accepted to the colleges or universities to which you apply. However, we will work with you to develop a balanced list of schools that you are interested in. Building a balanced list is one of the best ways to gain admission to a college or university in the U.S.
