Great Salary and Benefits

All positions come with rent-free housing, health insurance, and an airfare allowance!

  • Public schools (EPIK): Earn $1,550 - $1,800 USD/month
  • Private academies (hagwons): Earn $1,700 - $2,200 USD/month

CIEE Program Snapshot

  • Contracts are for 12 months with start dates in February, August and September each year!
  • The Teach in Korea program includes job placement, extensive pre-departure resources, and ongoing support from CIEE staff. The fee is $1,950 if you need to take our 150-hour online TEFL course, or $1,350 if you already have an equivalent credential. The balance of the fee is only due once you accept a job offer from a Korean school.

Eligibility Requirements

Please note the following visa/eligibility requirements for the CIEE Teach in South Korea program:

  • Native-level English fluency.
  • Citizenship from the United States, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Canada, Ireland, or the United Kingdom.
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in any field, or be on track to earn one in less than 12 months. The degree must be from an accredited institution located in one of the 7 countries above.
  • Be no younger than 18 and no older than 50 years of age.
  • Clean criminal history with no record of arrests or charges.
  • Employers expect candidates to have TEFL certification, but don't worry, it's included in our program package!
