For the past week, all of the neighborhood groups have been roating through different activities to help them learn more about Spanish culture. One of these activities was a Spanish cooking class in which participants learned to make a variety of popular Spanish dishes. Among those dishes were Salmorejo (a cold tomato soup from Andalucía), Tortilla de patatas (a thick Spanish omelette made with potatoes), Paella (a popular rice dish in Valencia), and Torta de Santiago (an almond cake that originated in Galicia). The participants had so much fun learning how to make these dishes, and even more fun eating them afterwards!
