Engage in digital storytelling in the creative capital of South America.
What’s it like to live, learn and create in one of the world’s most dynamic cities? In Buenos Aires you’ll explore a fusion of cultural influences all around you and create digital narratives to capture the experience of a lifetime. Each week you’ll focus on a different topic — from Food and Music of the Rio de la Plata to Urban Youth Cultural Expressions — through classes and hands-on shooting and production. You’ll also visit a variety of digital art exhibitions throughout the city to inspire your own creative work.
You’ll live in a dorm, hang out with new friends, and document your daily observations with a fresh perspective. Outside of class time, there are museums, galleries and performing arts galore. Café life is always abuzz with coffee, conversation and people watching, and your choice of Argentinian or classic European style food is never far away.
In your spare time, watch a football (soccer) match live or catch one on TV as clusters gather in local spots to cheer on their favorite players. With your HSA classmates, take a bike tour of the coastline, learn to dance the tango, watch world-class music performances, and take it all in.

Buenos Aires has a rich tradition of celebrating the arts — from books, film and theater, to dance, music and more.
Dubbed “the Paris of South America,” Buenos Aires is a thriving center of literature and the arts. Hub of creative industries and innovation, it is a multicultural magnet for students, artists, writers, producers and entrepreneurs. Here you can explore Latin American, European and Middle Eastern influences in art, architecture and cuisine while practicing your Spanish language skills every day.
In this populous city the creative arts are accessible to all. Graffiti is a celebrated art form and the range of free events, from music and film festivals to theater and dance performances, is outstanding. Booklovers note: Buenos Aires has more bookstores per person than any other city in the world!
Argentina is world renowned for its grass-fed beef. Locals love a good asado (barbecue) and serve a variety of grilled meats. Homemade pasta is plentiful in the city’s authentic Italian restaurants. Must-try street foods include the choripán, a handmade chorizo sausage with chimichurri sauce on crusty bread. You’ll find a range of different empanadas everywhere you go — both meat and vegetarian vegetarian — and learn to tell their fillings by the shape and fold. Provoleta, fried melted cheese with oregano, is another popular snack on the go.
Ice cream is everywhere! Hand-made, gelato-style scoops are served up from corner stands and shops, with myriad flavors to choose from. Creamy dulce de leche is a classic.
