For example, Monzo and Starling Bank have similar operations, however, Monzo was founded over a year later and has quickly overtaken Starling as the UK's leading mobile bank.
Arindra puts this all down to their branding, citing examples of Monzo's informal communication style, including their frequent use of emojis, which has helped them relate to customers in a way that other banks have not.
