Study Abroad in Boston
College Study Abroad
Explore Boston, Massachusetts
Boston is one of the oldest and most historic cities in the U.S. and the country’s biggest college town – with more than 30 colleges and universities. Nowhere else can students step between hundreds of years of history on cobblestone streets while exploring art, culture, business, and more. As an intern in Boston, you’ll learn first-hand why locals refer to the city as “The Hub” - as in - “The Hub of the Universe.”
Study Tours & Cultural Excursions
Every CIEE Global Internship program has multiple academic activities and excursions into near-by cities and towns. In Boston, past excursions and outings have included:
- Walking the 2.5-mile Freedom Trail through Boston’s historic downtown
- Touring some of the city’s 50+ museums including the Museum of Fine Arts, Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum, and more
- Enjoying Boston’s famous Italian pastry shops and outdoor street festivals in the North End
- Exploring New England’s scenic rocky coastline from a whale watch, Duck Tour, or ferry to a near-by island
Where Students Intern
Our Global Internship placements occur all around the city of Boston. CIEE is located right in the heart of downtown Boston, walking distance from Faneuil Hall and Government Center. Students commute to internship placements using city bikes, on foot, or on the country’s oldest public transportation and rail system – the T.
Internships & Volunteering
In addition to their internship, students have the opportunity to volunteer with youth centers, homeless shelters, and more.
