Due to the overwhelming response to this year’s Generation Study Abroad Access Grant, we are excited to announce the selection of TWO $20,000 winners:
- California State University, Northridge (CSUN) for their program, From Apartheid to Today: Black Deaf Activism, Culture & Education in South Africa
- Gallaudet University, Sign Language of Spain (LSE) and Spanish Deaf Culture in Madrid

How can the Grant be used?Click to Open
The $20,000 CIEE Generation Study Abroad Access Grant can be used to help students, normally underrepresented in study abroad, with participation costs. For example, program scholarships, passport, visa, and travel costs. The funds are not intended for faculty to use for indirect program costs.
I already have a program planned, am I eligible?Click to Open
Eligibility requires the faculty/institution to partner with CIEE on a study abroad program. The CIEE Faculty-Led & Custom program department handles all the logistics – from housing to guest lectures, co-curricular activities to health, safety, and security training. Specific requests can be accommodated.
Do I need to submit a budget?Click to Open
