Originally from Cambridge, MA, Violet attended Union College in Schenectady, NY where she studied Environmental Policy and Psychology. Prior to college, she participated in a cross-cultural exchange in Cambodia after raising funds for a rural school project. After that, she went on a high school summer abroad program in the Caribbean. Once in college, she traveled to South Africa to study predator ecology, went to Argentina to study environmental policy and on to the Dominican Republic to study environmental education.
Since graduating, Violet has worked at the Center for Coastal Studies as an educator, lab assistant and program manager. In between work at CCS she spent time in the Bahamas working at the Cape Eleuthera Institute where she had an opportunity to work with students embarking on their first study abroad experience
