Rawya Abu Hajleh



Rawya has an undergraduate degree in Biology and Biochemistry and a graduate degree in Education from Birzeit University in Palestine. She formerly worked in the Ministry of Education in Ramallah, Palestine in training teachers and took part in authoring some science curriculum school textbooks.

Rawya moved to the United Arab Emirates in 2003 and worked at the American University of Sharjah in different positions the latest was in the office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs as an Endowment Officer and in 2017 Rawya became CIEE Sharjah Center Director. Working and living in Sharjah has allowed her to broaden her cultural understanding and increase her interest in multicultural diversity. She enjoys “familiarizing newcomers with the Emirates”. 

In her free time, Rawya can be found with her friends and family going to the malls in Sharjah, enjoying worldwide cuisines, and going to endless shows and events.
