Ken joined the AIC in October 2014 to manage our internship programs in San Francisco and the Bay Area. He brings extensive experience in the legal and business fields, having worked as a lawyer and legal technology expert in the US and Asia. Most recently, Ken consulted with major West Coast law firm clients while in the legal information services division of Bloomberg. His passion for international experiential education started in 1987 with his first extended experience abroad as an American Field Service high school exchange student in Finland. After earning his degree in Political Science and East Asian studies from McGill University in Montreal, he was a participant on the Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme, teaching English at two public junior high schools in the Kanto region.
Ken received his law degree from Northeastern University in Boston, where he experienced firsthand the positive impact of internships on professional career development. Although a rare treat, his favorite activity is free diving and bodysurfing in places such as Coron (Philippines), Curaçao,and around the Andaman Sea (Thailand).
