Faculty Member at Johns Hopkins University
Dr. Sarah Beckham's research focuses on socio-structural influences on health and implementation science approaches to ensuring evidence-based interventions reach populations most in need. In the past 10 years, her research has been mainly on prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS, especially among key populations in the epidemic, including sex workers, men who have sex with men, and drug users. Her research is currently focused on the intersections of reproductive health and HIV/AIDS among female sex workers, and how motherhood and pregnancy intertwine with work-based risk behaviors.
