Claudia Solacini received her Ph.D. in the History of Art from University of Bologna. She earned a Master’s degree in Decorative Arts from Ca’ Foscari - University of Venice, and she completed her bachelor’s degree in the Classical Tradition in Western Art at University of Bologna. In 2010, a fellowship at Brown University (Providence, RI) allowed her to complete her Doctoral research abroad. She worked as Teaching Assistant in Early Modern Art History, as well as Graduate Student Advisor at the Department of Visual Arts at University of Bologna. Through an interdisciplinary approach, her research interests include the development of mythological portraiture in early modern Europe, the Renaissance iconology, and the social meaning of political cartoons in eighteenth century revolutionary France and America.
