Chris joined AIC as the Development Director in 2017. A Michigan native, Chris graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in Recreation specializing in Experiential and Outdoor Education. The first decade of his career was spent in the experiential education field developing and facilitating experiential programs and workshops for diverse groups of high school students both domestically and internationally.
Chris has held leadership roles within three University systems, most recently Michigan State University, that focused on marketing and strategic program development for the recruitment and admissions of; domestic and international college students; high school students; and transfer and non-traditional students. Chris’s consultative approach led the way in partnership recruiting methods and incorporated Holland’s Vocational Theory, Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator (personality type), and similar tools into the planning model so that students could better understand and design their own educational path.
At heart, Chris is an advocate for learning and for promoting the pursuit of once in a lifetime opportunities. He is motivated to help people find and pursue their passions.
