Student Life Manager
Brittani is originally from New York, and her family’s heritage is Jamaican. As the Student Life Manager at the Cape Town Global Institute, she is responsible for managing all aspects of the student experience including health and safety, excursions, student support, and managing the Student Life Team. She enjoys helping students navigate the joys and challenges of engaging with South Africa’s complex social and cultural landscape and supporting them on the journey of self-discovery that accompanies studying abroad. While completing her Bachelors in English literature at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, she studied abroad in Rome, Italy, and Cape Town, South Africa. She returned to Cape Town for her postgraduate studies, studying for both a Master’s and PhD in English Literature at the University of Cape Town. Her PhD research focused on the interplay between race, color, class and gender-based discrimination and the pursuit of whiteness in contemporary literature of the Anglophone Caribbean and the Cape.
