Ana María J. Wiseman

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina to Dutch parents, Ana María received her degree in Translation in Dutch, English, Spanish and French from Rijksuniversitair Centrum Antwerpen, in Belgium. She obtained the Doctor of Modern Languages degree in Spanish and French from Middlebury College, Middlebury, Vermont, USA in 1996.
She is Professor Emerita at Wofford College and served the College as Dean of International Programs as well as Associate Professor of Foreign Languages. Dr. Wiseman's teaching experience includes courses in language, literature, theater and film, and translation and interpretation. Her professional activities reflect her interest in educational technology, and include papers and work-shops on the instructional use of film, video and other technologies.
She is co-author of iSpeak Spanish Verbs, an e-program intended to help students understand and practice Spanish verb conjugations.
Dr. Wiseman has worked in the field of international education for more than 30 years and has served on the academic boards of several study abroad organizations. She is co-author of The IES Abroad MAP for Language & Intercultural Communication.
