CIEE Security Alert – France

Fri, 11/15/2019

CIEE programs and our students in France have so far not been impacted by the recent storms. According to international media reports, around 330,000 homes were hit by power cuts in the southeast of France following snow, ice and heavy rain. Heavy snowstorms have hit the Drome, Isere, Rhone and Ardeche departments overnight Thursday, 14 November. Train traffic is expected to be interrupted in and around Grenoble at least until Friday afternoon, 15 November, due to fallen trees on the tracks. According to local weather services, the snowfall should continue until Friday night.

CIEE will continue to monitor the situation closely. If there are any relevant developments, we will provide updates here. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call us at 1-800-40-STUDY.
