Entering the U.S - Customs

Once you get your bags, go to the Customs desk, where you will show your passport, answer a few questions, and hand in your declaration form as you leave. Keep in mind:

  • All prescription drugs should be clearly marked.
  • You cannot bring in articles made from protected species, nor can you transport perishable foods such as cheese, fruit and nuts.
  • You have a duty-free allowance of $100 in gifts, 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars or 2 kg of smoking tobacco.
  • If you bring in alcohol, you must be 21 or older.
  • If you carry more than $10,000, you must report this to a customs official.
