Dun and Bradstreet Number

The Department of State requires that CIEE have a Dun and Bradstreet number for all of its Host Organizations. Maintaining a commercial database of numbers assigned to businesses worldwide, Dun and Bradstreet issues DUNS numbers to companies and non-profit organizations throughout the United States.

If your organization does not have a DUNS number, you will be required to apply for one. However, please keep in mind that many organizations already have a DUNS number! Please check Dun and Bradstreet to find out if your company already has one.

The process for requesting a number is relatively straightforward. There are two options for doing so:

• Request number online at Dun and Bradstreet website – Process is free but takes up to 6 weeks;
• Request number via telephone at 1-888-814-1435. Numbers can be turned around same day for an expedite fee of $99.

Academic institutions, government entities and family farms are not required to provide a Dun and Bradstreet number.
