Write a letter to your past or future self…
Letters are among the most significant memorial a person can leave behind them. — Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
You are cordially invited to recall and record the highs and lows of your teach abroad experience and offer advice to yourself in the form of a letter.
- What would you tell your past self before getting on the plane to Teach Abroad?
- What would you tell yourself to do more of while being abroad?
- What feelings/experiences/lessons do you want your future self to remember about your Teach Abroad experience years from now?
- If you could whisper one word of teach abroad wisdom into the ear of your past or future self, what would it be?
Now is the time to further immortalize your experience!
Eligibility: Any current participant or alum of our Teach Abroad programs is eligible.
Before April 29, 2012 submit your letter to CIEE with accompanying photos.
Grand Prize: $500 gift certificate
Runner up Prizes: $300 and $100 visa gift cards
Entries will be judged according to the lessons presented and how they relate to your past of future life. The best letters will intertwine stories from time spent abroad and time before and after; specific examples and tales are always the best and photos help illuminate the lesson!

Please label your letter and accompanying photos with your first name, last name, and Teach Abroad host city and country before uploading to submit (eg. john-doe-seville-spain.doc, john-doe-seville-spain.pdf). If you have any questions or issues submitting your proposal, please email teach@ciee.org.
