Community Service Learning

Are you looking for a truly integrative experience in Seville? You may take this Community Service Learning Practicum if you are participating on the Liberal Arts, Advanced Liberal Arts, Business and Society or Language and Society Program.

This class if offered each semester, as well as during Summer Session III.

Social Justice and Community Service Practicum
Designed for students interested in human rights, sociology, international law or international relations, this course will explore some of the contemporary manifestations of social divisions: inclusions and exclusions, collective identities, minorities, citizenship, gender, and globalization and human rights, placing special emphasis on the Spanish and European reality. The course seeks to familiarize the student with major issues in the current global debate and increase his/her capacity for critical research and analysis. A fundamental objective of the course is to engage the student on a more practical level and complement the academic knowledge though service-learning as part of the volunteer component.
