CIEE offers 18 programs in nine countries during the summer and academic year that put you at the forefront of the dialogue about public health and its relevant issues; introducing you to innovative educators, legislators, and grassroots organizers; urban and rural environments.

From studying the AIDS crisis in Botswana to working with rural healthcare experts in the Dominican Republic, CIEE brings you to the cusp of the developing world’s health challenges, and gives you the chance to work with those who are devoting their lives to finding a solution. In the EU, see firsthand what it’s like to be provided for by some of the best public health systems in the world while studying in Sweden. Debate healthcare from a social science perspective and learn medical terminology on a CIEE program in Spain. Spend the summer in the field in Argentina, or spend a semester in Australia and pursue an internship in public health.

CIEE offers a range of environments in which to develop critical insights into global issues that are universally relevant, and key to careers in medical or policy fields. The choice is yours. CIEE Community Public Health summer programs provide students with the opportunity to observe a range of healthcare challenges and a variety of solutions in place to meet them. Students compare the differences and similarities between healthcare systems in the developing world and the U.S., and learn tools to approach common problems in different settings.
Take an in-depth look at the challenges developing nations face when devising their healthcare schemes in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where you’ll spend equal time in the field and in the classroom studying an interdisciplinary curriculum taught by professors and researchers.
Learn about the fight against HIV/AIDS in Gaborone, Botswana, where you’ll participate in an urban community service project and work at a rural health clinic. Combine Spanish language studies with community health classes and fieldwork in Santiago, Dominican Republic.
