Rob Hurtekant, recipient of the CIEE Student of the Year Award in 2006-07, studied abroad at the CIEE Study Center in Cape Town, South Africa. Rob volunteered at the Tembalethu School for the Physically Challenged, where he made a profound impact.

Eric Kowalchyk spent a semester studying on the Business and Society Program at the CIEE Study Center in Seville, Spain. He has a mild form of muscular dystrophy called CMT. You can view his paper here.
Angel Miles studied at the CIEE Study Center at Murdoch University in Perth, Australia. Because she was born with Spina Bifida, she uses a wheelchair and a crutch and braces to get around. In the fall of 2003 she will begin a PhD program in Women's Studies at the University of Maryland, for which she has received a four-year fellowship.

Jessica Ramquist was a participant on the CIEE Seville Liberal Arts program in Spring 2002. Jessica wrote the following article about her experience in Spain for MIUSA's Away Magazine.

Justin Brumelle, who has cerebral palsy and hydrocephalus, was a participant on the CIEE Study Center in Khon Kaen, Thailand, Summer 2002. Justin wrote the following articles about his experience in Thailand for the magazine Perspectives.
