Datsang Village School Library and Solar Project
Datsang Village School & CIEE Study Center at Minzu University of China, Beijing, China
This grant supported the construction and furnishing of a library, essential for youth and community education concerning environmental awareness and the preservation of Tibetan cultural heritage, as well as a solar power system for a primary school in rural Tibet. While at Datsang School, CIEE students were actively involved in contributing their volunteer work to the school project. In addition to construction work, CIEE students worked with the school staff and students to create a mural painting to inaugurate the new library.
