Brazil, Rio de Janerio: Language and Culture
CIEE Study Center at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro
The Language and Culture program offers students with a modest background in Spanish or Portuguese a direct enrollment study abroad experience in Brazil. Through diverse, guided cultural activities, field trips, homestays, and volunteer opportunities the program introduces students to insightful perspectives of Carioca culture and Brazilian society.
Brazil, Rio de Janerio: Liberal Arts
CIEE Study Center at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro
The Liberal Arts program is aimed at those students that have reached a sufficient level of Portuguese or level of fluency in Spanish to enroll in the myriad of university courses taught in Portuguese. This program enables students from a wide array of academic disciplines to contribute to their understanding of Latin American and Brazilian society, and apply this new understanding to their courses of study at their home institutions.
Germany, Berlin: Business and Culture
CIEE Study Center at the Berlin School of Economics and Law
The Business and Economics program at the Berlin School of Economics and Law helps prepare students for a career in business through balanced exposure to core concepts, important theories, case studies, and important communication and management techniques. In compliance with the CIEE Community Language Commitment a strong emphasis is placed on learning and use of the German language.
Senegal, Dakar: Development Studies
CIEE Study Center in Dakar, Senegal
The Development Studies program offers students the opportunity to learn firsthand about development issues in a French-speaking West African country and introduces students to Senegalese society and to such issues as education, politics, and the impact of Islam. With the exception of the required Wolof language course, all courses are taught in French, giving advanced language students the opportunity to use French daily in and out of the classroom.
Spain, Palma de Mallorca: Business and Tourism
CIEE Study Center at University of the Balearic Islands (UIB)
The Business and Tourism program in Palma de Mallorca is designed for students with an academic interest in studying business, tourism, and/or hospitality alongside Spanish students in a direct enrollment environment, with a global perspective, and the goal to develop management skills for future leadership in the tourism and hospitality industry. Students are offered the opportunity to participate in an internship and to be exposed to a professional tourism work atmosphere in a foreign environment where they can apply the business vocabulary and skills gained in class in real-life professional situations.

Brazil, Rio de Janerio: Intensive Language and Culture
CIEE Study Center at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro
The Intensive Language and Culture program is designed to enable study abroad students to develop a higher level of Portuguese language fluency, as well as a critical appreciation of Brazilian life and society. This is achieved through the academic program and cultural immersion activities, including the home stay and excursions in and around the city of Rio de Janeiro.
France, Paris: Contemporary Music Creation and Critique
CIEE Study Center and the Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique Musique (IRCAM)
The goals of the Paris Contemporary Music Creation and Critique program at the IRCAM are to train U.S. students in new music composition and experimentation in cutting-edge technology. Interaction with international composers and attendance to concerts and conferences will give students the language to explain what is occurring currently in the world of contemporary music, and define their current and future composition projects.
Spain, Barcelona: Architecture
CIEE Study Center in Barcelona, Spain
The Architecture summer program is intended to introduce students to contemporary Barcelona’s art and architecture through an exciting course which uses the city as its classroom. In addition, the program is structured in order to increase the students’ design capacities through an architectural design studio where a Barcelona-based project will be developed.
Turkey, Istanbul: Summer Contemporary Turkish Studies
CIEE Study Center at Koç University, Istanbul
The summer program in Istanbul, Turkey is designed to give students the opportunity to learn first-hand about contemporary Turkey through special courses in Turkish history, literature, politics, visual arts and music, and society.
