Internships Abroad
Interning abroad contributes to creating a more holistic student, prepared for the challenges of a complex and integrated world. Internship projects provide not only a deeper involvement in local society but also a deeper knowledge about yourself and your place in the world, integrating your academic learning and personal intercultural development. Internships allow you to engage in the local community and incorporate lessons from the classroom into day-to-day life in local organizations, businesses and schools. Whether helping patients in a public clinic, or working with an international organization for environmental protection, an internship will profoundly influence and enhance your experience abroad. Some internships have a business focus where you may work in corporations in a wide variety of industries including media, telecommunications, or tourism. Others offer a community service or development focus, where you may be working in organizations involved in social policy, education, gender issues, human rights, or health issues. Some programs require specific language proficiency or experience, so please visit the individual program pages for more details.
