Spend the summer, semester, or year studying abroad with CIEE in Groningen. Known as the “Metropolis of the North” this compact and lively city located two hours northeast of Amsterdam offers a university-focused environment (students comprise 25 percent of the population during the academic year), which allows students to surround yourself with both local and international students. Spend the spring or fall on our Urban Planning and Society program or take the summer to study on our Contemporary Netherlands Studies program—whichever you choose, you’ll add an international element to your education while living in a vibrant city full of cafés, shops, historic monuments, theaters, parks, and markets.
