CIEE Language Intensive Focus Track (LIFT) Scholarship

CIEE's Language Intensive Focus Track (LIFT) scholarship program commits $100,000 annually to help fund the extended study of a single world language by today's top college and university students.

At CIEE, we believe that extended language development plays a critical role in students' preparation for living and working in an increasingly globalized and interdependent world. Our goal for the LIFT scholarship program is to enable dedicated students to study abroad for a full year, an important element in language acquisition and an option that is becoming more difficult for students to access each year.

The LIFT scholarship program reflects CIEE's long-standing commitment to intensive foreign language acquisition, particularly in strategic languages that are critical to students preparing to tackle 21st century global challenges. Our rigorous year-long programs immerse students fully in a language through a unique combination of intensive courses, homestays, conversation exchanges with members of the host community, and language commitments.
