Transcripts
IMPORTANT NOTICE to CIEE alumni requesting a transcript to be forwarded to the Law School Admissions Council (LSAC):
As of November 20, 2006, LSAC requires students who have studied abroad for MORE THAN ONE YEAR (cumulative overseas study) to acquire transcripts directly from the overseas institution if you took courses directly at the overseas university. (If you only took CIEE-Administered courses, you do not need to request an overseas transcript.) Please note the following:
- Regardless of whether your courses were direct enrollment at the overseas institution or administered by CIEE, LSAC recommends that you request a CIEE transcript. You may do this by following the instructions below.
- If you took even one course directly at a host institution, AND you studied abroad for a total of time exceeding one year of study, LSAC also requires that you request a copy of the transcript to be sent directly from the overseas institution. Unfortunately, per LSAC’s requirements, CIEE can not send this for you. Please contact the Registrar at the overseas institution directly for instructions about how to request an official transcript from them.

Requesting a Transcript
To request transcripts (additional to those mailed directly to your sending institution upon program completion), please print and complete the CIEE Transcript Request Form (pdf) and return it to the CIEE U.S. Office via mail or fax, as instructed on the form.
- Payment may be made by check or money order (payable to CIEE-ISP), or by credit card (Visa or MasterCard only).
- Please be sure to include any additional instructions or required forms specific to your needs (i.e. LSDAS form or AMCAS form) with your request.
- If you have a financial obligation to CIEE, your request will not be processed.
- Email or phone requests will not be accepted, as a student signature is required.

*Unofficial transcript requests may also be faxed or emailed (via PDF) rather than mailed—the $5.00 fee still applies.

Please note, CIEE sends out copies of the original grades that were forwarded to your sending institution (the school through which you were granted permission to participate on the program). This is because CIEE, which administers the programs, does not grant credit directly to participants in its programs and therefore cannot provide official transcripts, as would a sending institution. These copies, however, come with a letter of explanation and are signed and sealed. Requests for transcripts reflecting credit earned must be made to the student's sending/home institution at the time of studying abroad.
