Now that you're back, it's an ideal time to reflect upon your international experience, which has hopefully opened your eyes and broadened your horizons.

What did you discover abroad – about the culture, the people, and yourself? How have your perspectives changed? We’re not looking for a typical essay, but rather thoughts about your experience that will encourage others to take the bold step you did. The best stories are detailed reflections of what you saw, heard, felt, and experienced abroad. Get creative—tell your story in an essay, a few paragraphs, or a poem. If you have one, include a photo that illustrates or compliments your story!

Famous monuments and beautiful vistas are great subjects, but so are the small moments you observed, secret locales you discovered, and the candid shots you took of your host family and friends. Use your camera to show us how you’ve immersed yourself in the culture at school, at home, and in the community.
