Application Deadlines Extensions
The October 1 application deadline for the CIEE Study Center in Uppsala, Sweden, has been extended to October 15.
Cape Town, South AfricaProgram Filling
We have received a large number of early applications for the CIEE Arts and Sciences Program at the University of Cape Town. If you are in the process of reviewing applications for the spring 2010 semester, we ask that you forward these to CIEE as soon as possible for consideration as the program is filling rapidly and there are a limited number of spaces available. We strongly recommend that students indicate a second choice program on their application.
CIEE offers two additional programs in southern Africa, the CIEE Study Center at Stellenbosch University and the CIEE Study Center at the University of Botswana.
Monteverde, Costa RicaTropical Ecology and Conservation Program Filling
We have received a great number of early applications for this program. If you are currently reviewing applications for spring 2010, please forward these to CIEE as soon as possible. The program is filling and there are a limited number of spaces available. We strongly recommend that students indicate a second choice option on their application in the event they are placed on a waiting list. Please consider the Tropical Marine Ecology Program at the CIEE Study Center in Bonaire as an alternative program.

CIEE Study Center in Dublin, Ireland–New ServiceLearning Track
Students interested in engaging the local community through service in that community now have the opportunity to enroll in a new Service-Learning track at the CIEE Study Center at Dublin City University. The Service-Learning track provides a framework for students to fulfill their educational and personal goals while bridging relationships in the communities in which their learning takes place. Students design and implement a research project that fulfills the Service-Learning core principles of engagement, reflection, reciprocity, and public dissemination.

CIEE Annual Conference - Register Today
Register today for the CIEE Annual Conference in Istanbul, Turkey, and join colleagues from around the globe to discuss this year’s theme “Cultivating Culture: Local Foundations, Global Perspectives.” Pre-registration for this year’s conference closes next Friday, October 16, so be sure to register soon.
