CIEE Conference in Philadelphia.

Ping Doctoral Research Fellows
We were delighted to have the first Ping Doctoral Research Fellows with us in Istanbul and to share the results of their research with attendees. Chelsea BaileyShea and Jinous Kasravi both presented their work at the Academic Consortium Breakfast. To view their presentations, click here.

Recognition Award
At this year’s Breakfast Plenary, we also recognized a group of students
for their work while attending the CIEE Study Center in Khon Kaen,
Thailand. To learn more about the project carried out by the entire fall
2008 group, and the work that Allison Dulin of Davidson College and Alvin
Sangsuwangul of Pomona College, were involved in, click here.
AAPLAC Conference in Managua, Nicaragua: February 15-16, 2010
CIEE will offer an open house in conjunction with the AAPLAC
(Association of Academic Programs in Latin America and the Caribbean)
Conference in Managua. Visits to the CIEE Study Center in Managua will be
arranged prior to the start of the conference. The open house will
include visits to the CIEE Study Center, meetings with staff and faculty,
and a tour of the university campus and its surroundings. For more

CIEE Study Center in Madrid, Spain—Host University Receives Award
Universidad Carlos III de Madrid received first place in the final selection of the top five universities in the International Campus of Excellence competition. The University, with roughly 20,000 students, was among the smallest of the 18 competing universities. As a result of finishing in first place in this competition, Carlos III University is scheduled to receive 10 million Euros a year for the next four years to develop its programs and projects, which includes a new building and new diploma programs.
Students at the CIEE Study Center in Shanghai, China meet U.S. Ambassador John Huntsman
Four CIEE students studying at Fudan University through the Huntsman Program in International Studies and Business recently met with U.S. Ambassador Jon Huntsman, the son of their program’s namesake, at the AmCham Government Appreciation Dinner in Shanghai. CIEE administers on-site logistics for Huntsman Program, which is organized by the University of Pennsylvania.
Summer and Fall 2010 Program Fees and Bulletin
Updated information, including program fees, for summer and fall 2010 CIEE Study Center programs will be posted on our website on December 15th. For ease, changes to the program are outlined in the Summer/Fall 2010 Bulletin. These changes are also integrated into the existing program information so that each program description is up-to-date.
