CIEE Study Center Admissions Update: Senegal, Czech Republic, Jordan, and the Dominican Republic
We have received a great number of early applications for three of our fall 2008 programs. If you are reviewing applications for the following programs, we ask that you please forward them to CIEE as soon as possible for consideration as the programs are filling and there are a limited number of spaces available:
CIEE Study Center in Dakar, Senegal
CIEE Study Center in Prague, Czech Republic
CIEE Study Center in Amman, Jordan – Language and Culture
CIEE Study Center in Santiago, Dominican Republic: Summer Community Health
We strongly recommend that students applying for these programs indicate a second choice on their application in the event they are placed on a waiting list. Please have your students consider the CIEE Study Centers in Rabat, Morocco; Warsaw, Poland; Budapest, Hungary, and Buenos Aires, Argentina: Summer Public Health as alternatives.
If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact Libby Lauze, Manager, Enrollment at 1.800.40.STUDY x4141 or via e-mail at elauze@ciee.org.
Ping Doctoral Research Fellowships
CIEE has recently established the Ping Doctoral Research Fellowships, providing support for doctoral research focused on U.S. undergraduate study abroad.
We invite Directors of Graduate Studies (or in the absence of a departmental DGS, a Chair) to nominate a qualified doctoral candidate for a Fellowship. These Fellowships, funded through a small endowment, are named after Dr. Charles Ping, President Emeritus of Ohio University and a long-time former Chairman of the CIEE Board of Directors.
During the 2008-09 academic year, CIEE will provide up to two $20,000 Ping Fellowships to outstanding doctoral candidates. Please visit the CIEE website here for details about eligibility, requirements, and the nomination of candidates.
Please let interested parties know about the Ping Doctoral Research Fellowships. If you have any questions, please contact Mick Vande Berg at mvandeberg@ciee.org.
