Position offered : Banquets

Duration: 6 months

Compensation: $10.50 per hour

Intern/Trainee will learn the operations of banquets within a luxury resort hotel. Assist the Banquet Set-up Manager in the running of all meeting set-up, refreshes, teardown and the organization and daily planning needed. Learn how to welcome and assist guests according to The Fairmont Hotels & Resorts Brand Standards. Learn hotel standards of hotel cleanliness and set up of function space for the banquet and ensure event areas are executed with the highest level of proficiency. Direct and participate in preparing function rooms. Learn and develop proficiency in performing duties and responsibilities of banquet service staff. Understand the importance of excellent customer service and banquet up-selling techniques. Learn how to develop working knowledge of banquet event orders. Learn about management, direction, presentation, service and evaluation of special event.

Position offered : Housekeeping Supervisor

Duration: 6 months

Compensation: $10.00 per hour

Learn the daily operations of housekeeping within a luxury hotel, while ensuring the ultimate comfort, cleanliness, safety and standards for all guests and members. Learn and maintain superior standards of presentation, maintenance and cleanliness in all areas of the hotel. Learn inspecting procedures at a supervisory level. Run reports pertaining to vacant and occupied rooms. Develop effective leadership skills and understand the importance of interdepartmental communication and cooperation. Learn and master skills in handling customer complaints and rooms knowledge and skills. Maintain a presence as requested at hotel meetings and committees. Ensure all guest rooms have proper furniture; fixtures and amenities that all set standards for placement are being followed. Actively participate in daily briefing, daily warm up and department meetings.

Position offered : Food and Beverage I

Duration: 6 months

Compensation: $4.00 per hour plus tips

Learn the daily operations of a high end luxury resort. Learn appropriate guest resolution. Demonstrate an attitude of friendly hospitality in every aspect of service. Provide prompt, courteous and efficient food and beverage service. Maintain cleanliness and condition of the training areas and equipment. Learn how to implement standards of service consistently. Learn to make appropriate suggestion of food and beverage. Execute proper techniques for all meal periods of service: bussing, hosting, extensive menu knowledge, ordering, serving, presentation, up-selling and communicating with the kitchen. Learn the computer system and handle cash and bills according to procedure. Gain a management perspective with a high-end luxury resort restaurant. Learn the daily procedures and operations of a restaurant manager.
