Intern/Trainee South America Recruitment Event

The Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE), in partnership with Asatej, is pleased to announce that we will be holding a Hospitality Internship Fair in Buenos Aires.

Each year, CIEE sponsors thousands of students and young professionals on programs of practical training at companies throughout the US. These programs provide participants with a unique opportunity to advance their skills and knowledge while exploring life in the US at the same time.

What kinds of training positions will be available at this event?

Representatives will be recruiting for internships in the following fields:

- Guest Services
- Culinary
- Food and Beverage

We also advise you to return to this site periodically over the coming weeks, since new companies and/or positions may be posted.

Eligibility

To be selected, candidates must qualify for the J1 Intern/Trainee Program. Therefore, before enrolling in the event, please make sure that you meet the following eligibility requirements:

• Applicants must be students enrolled on a full-time basis at a nationally accredited post-secondary institution or recent graduates within 12 months of graduation.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
• Applicants must have sufficient English language skills to function in a business setting.
• Applicants must show that the desired internship position is not duplicative of prior training or work experience.
• Proposed training program must demonstrate a correlation to the applicant's program of study or degree area*

*Hospitality internship positions of 12 months in duration are open to hospitality majors only.   Positions less than six months in duration are open to both hospitality students and non-hospitality students in the following majors:

• English
• Business (including Finance and Economy)
• Marketing
• International Studies
• International Relations

Things to Consider while reviewing positions for the CIEE Internship Fair

• English Level - Positions like Front Desk and Server require Advanced English skills, so be realistic when you are thinking about the type of internship you would like to do.
• Dates - Arrival dates and departure dates are very important to host organizations. Please choose to interview with a hotel/resort whose date requirements fit your availability.
• Experience - Some positions will require previous hospitality experience. Please carefully read the descriptions and make sure your experience is noted in your CIEE resume.
• Offers - You will have limited time to decide whether or not to accept an internship if one is offered. Therefore, it is critical that you are sincere about your interest in participating in the program before enrolling in the event.

It is important that you come to the internship event prepared, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the position you wish to interview for. There is competition for many of the positions available at the fair, so it's important that you sign up as soon as you can. Make sure to follow the instructions that Asatej has given you for enrolling in the event.

What will happen at the event?

Host Organization representatives from a select group of high-end hotels will be present at the event to conduct personal interviews with qualified and interested candidates. Interviews will be pre-determined prior to the event and interview slots will be filled on a first-come first-served basis.
